Biomass is a Green Energy Source or Bioenergy

In fact, it is one of the three main areas of bioenergy. According to experts, it is also. But what is bioenergy? Well, it is a process by which organic material such as animal waste, plants and wood are used to generate electricity, produce heat and also aid in the production of biofuels.

In the case of biomass, hot air or water is generated to produce electricity. This is done through direct combustion and is considered the simplest and most common method of generating energy from biomass. Aside from generating electricity, biomass can be used for hot air production so you can keep a place warm.

Biomass Fuels – Future Renewable Energy Source

Biomass is defined as a renewable energy source, referring to living and recently dead biological material that can be used as fuel or industrial production. Biofuels can be produced from organic foods or waste. It is derived from photosynthesis, creating a form of solar energy.

Solar cells

There is a biofuel making plant in Arizona that uses algae as its source for production. The plant is set up in a greenhouse like casing, allowing the sun to penetrate. The sunlight helps the algae grow. Long, clear, plastic bags flow down from the ceiling with flowing water. The algae grow inside of the plastic bags. The process is called vertebrae. The creator of the facility states, he could produce 30,000 gallons a year. If we took a tenth of New Mexico and filled it with algae growing facilities, they could produce enough biofuels for the entire country.

Make Your Own Fuel

There are actually many other alternative fuel sources available rather than gasoline. Technology has come a long way since Henry Ford first developed ways to process oil to make gasoline so it could power his new combustion engine for cars.

Homemade Fuel Additive
By Mirko Van Anken

Believe it or not, you can actually make a homemade fuel additive that will help your vehicle emit less toxic emissions. However, this is a complex process that shouldn’t really be taken lightly. When you are messing around with products like hydrogen, methane, and such, you don’t want to do so without some training and some know-how.

There are plenty of fuel additives available on the open market available for purchase, but there are still some people who think that they can make homemade fuel additives to help increase gas mileage and improve engine performance. This article will not tell you how to make your own homemade fuel additive. What it will do, however, is tell you what a fuel additive is and what it can do for your engine.

In general, fuel additives will improve your gas mileage. It takes the natural components of whatever fuel you are using and then extends the natural properties of that fuel so that it performs above and beyond what it was meant to do. Most fuel additives contain a certain amount of alcohol. Alcohol can help regular gasoline run through your engine cleaner and more efficiently.

A homemade fuel additive will contain a certain amount of alcohol. That doesn’t mean you should shove a pint of Jack Daniels down your gas tank. Real fuel additives contain much more than just plain old alcohol. Although we will say that ethanol – which is an alternative fuel being embraced by the nation – is basically moonshine. But be aware that a standard internal combustion engine is not equipped to handle pure alcohol without modifications.

If you are trying to undertake making your own homemade fuel additive, do so with caution. The ingredients that fuel additives must contain are highly combustible and can be explosive if combined in the wrong way. It might be very appealing to you and a way to boast and brag to your friends that you were able to improve the efficiency of your engine with your own homemade fuel additive, but you might just be putting your life at risk.

Now, you should realize that we understand that there are people out there who really know what they’re doing when it comes to homemade fuel additives. What we’re saying is that if you have experience, by all means, give it a try. On the other hand, if you have no clue – or little clue – what you are doing, leave it to the pre-made brands you can buy at Wal-Mart.

Alternative Energetic Source

Alternative Energetic Sources that could be favorite in near future as biofuels, that can easy produce and easy to use with most truck engine.

Biofuels Can Be Considered Alternative Energetic Sources
By Paul Moss

Biofuels are created by converting organic matters into fuel so that mankind can be supplied with energy. The biofuels represent alternative ways to stop using the fossil fuels which are already depleting for the near future. Biofuels include under this designation ethanol, derivatives of plants namely sugar cane, corn oils and vegetables. Nonetheless, not all products made from ethanol can be used to generate power. The agency catering for international energy has concluded that ethanol can be used to supply ten percent of the total amounts of gasoline necessary to mankind starting from 2025, and thirty percent of it until 2050. Until now, the percentage remains relatively low, only two percent.

Nonetheless, we can still find a solution to make way for economic and practical changes in the ways biofuels will affect the current and future trends in energy. Studies carried out by scientists have pointed out so far that biofuel can be as much energy efficient as petroleum and traditional fossil fuels. With this in mind, we can easily make an impression on which one will prove to be the most effective in the long term. We need incredulous amounts of energy to provide input energy and this can be done by ensuring that we find some sort of energy source that will not deplete itself. Currently, fossil fuel resources are being depleted at high levels, therefore it is important to have a backup plan that might become the norm in some years from now on. Research has also pointed out that products made from corn ethanol derived sources is twenty percent efficient, compared to the relative success of gasoline, accounting for seventy five percent energy efficiency.

Therefore, it is important to point out that despite the fact that alternative energies and thus biofuels are under research, the ethanol derived from cellulose proved to be eighty five percent efficient, therefore even more that the efficiency of gasoline.

For instance, analysis inside the NYSE, the stock exchange of New York, predict a much wider scale and availability of biofuels to be used to create energy. By spanning the area of the impact of this technology, oil prices can be reduced and thus they can even drop under the crude amount of forty dollars per barrel or even less. Therefore, it is easily possible and predictable that the alternative energy industry would definitely have a negative impact on fossil fuel industries. Some analysts predict that alternative energies, thus biofuels will supply seven percent of total energy demands for transportation by 2030. Therefore, the energy market will definitely be affected in an irreversible way that will make institutions and government authorities unable to regulate the impact of biofuels. If the government nonetheless, agrees to subsidize firm and thus encourage the distribution of biofuels, then the eco-friendly alternative will stand more chances in becoming the norm.

Worldwide, there are more nations involved and committed to promoting the usage of biofuels against the usage of more traditional fuels.

These countries include Brazil, who occurs to be the biggest producer of ethanol of them all. It produces ethanol mainly from sugar, around half a billion gallons each year of ethanol production.

While it is the largest consumer of fuels on earth at the moment, the US is also the second largest country producing biofuels, just behind Brazil. Thus, the biofuel quantity produced by the European Union amounts for up to four million tons of biofuel. About eighty percent of the amount of biodiesel fuels coming from the EU is obtained from rapeseed; the rest of it comes from soybean oils and well as some palm oil quantity . These sources represent the remaining twenty percent of the production of biofuel in Europe.

Use Biofuels for Environment

Biofuels can be produced from any (biological) carbon source; although, the most common sources are photosynthetic plants. Various plants and plant-derived materials are used for biofuel manufacturing. Globally, biofuels are most commonly used to power vehicles, heating homes cornstoves and cooking stoves.

Knowing Bio Fuels – Does it do Good For the Environment?
By Tom Founder

Bio fuels are the fuels made from the decomposition of biological matters. Mostly when the plants decompose, they secret some form of by-product. They can be solid, liquid or gas.

Bio fuels are not the same as fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are mostly what we are familiar with including petroleum, coal and natural gas. They are good sources of energy but they can be used up. And the world had accumulated those fossil fuels for million and million of years. Unfortunately, human quickly use a lot of them. They are going to be gone soon.
